Otemae Rooftop — Autumn Brocade Below the Castle
Autumn Colors of the Castle Grounds from the Egret Himeji Rooftop
Adjacent to Otemae Park, Egret Himeji offers a rooftop observation deck — the closest building to the castle — providing a premium sky-high seat to survey the entire castle grounds.
The Story
In this expansive, unobstructed panorama, the autumn scenery is particularly breathtaking. The entire castle grounds are dyed in fiery reds and brilliant golds, surrounding the majestic white Main Keep. This stunning gradient of autumn colors (Kinshu) can only be fully captured from this elevated vantage point.
Additionally, free binoculars are available on the rooftop. Looking through the lenses, you can clearly see the intricate details of the castle's architecture and even the people walking through the vast grounds, giving you a real sense of the castle's overwhelming scale. We highly recommend trying them to experience the grandeur firsthand.
